Harbor History Walking Tours with the Cook County Historical Society

The Cook County Historical Society leads Harbor History Walking Tours on Fridays from 7 to 8:30 pm (weather permitting). Interested participants can meet outside the History Museum and should be able to walk approximately a mile on uneven surfaces. More information at cookcountyhistory.org.

Fisherman's Picnic Trail Run

The Pincushion Ski and Run Club hosts the Fisherman’s Picnic Trail Runs on Saturday, August 1. Races include 10k Trail Race, 5k Mile Run/Walk, and Kids Races ¼ and 1 Mile Run/Walk. Race Packet & Bib Pick Up starts at 8 am.

Cook County Market

The Cook County Market is held on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm at The Hub parking lot.  The market features local arts, artists, and artisans.  More information by searching Cook County Market on Facebook.

Summer Children's Story Hour

The Muffin Man, Kevin Kager, reads his favorite picture books on the beachside by Drury Lane Books on Saturdays at 11 am.

Dale Mulfinger speaks about Architect Edwin Lundie

Cross Hiver Heritage hosts Dale Mulfinger, author of Cabinology and The Architecture of Edwin Lundie, for a talk about the life and work of Minnesota architect Edwin Lundie on Saturday, August 1, at 1 pm. More information at crossriverheritage.org.

Live Blacksmith Demonstration at the Bally Blacksmith & Metal Shop

The Cook County Historical Society (CCHS) invites you to a special live blacksmithing demonstration during Grand Marais’s annual Fisherman’s Picnic on August 1, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bally Blacksmith & Metal Shop.

Can’t make the event? You can still visit the Bally Blacksmith & Metal Shop during our regular summer hours! Stop by to chat with our interpretive staff, take a tour, and explore the museum every Saturday and Sunday, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. through the summer.

As You Like It

The Grand Marais Playhouse presents As You Like it, a Musical Adaptation of Shakespeare’s As You Like it. Performances this week are Thursday and Saturday at 7 pm at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts.

Nature Presentation Interactions at Chik-Wauk Museum & Nature Center

Weekly nature presentations are held on the front porch of Chik-Wauk Museum (in case of inclement weather, the presentations will be held indoors at the Nature Center) on Mondays at 1 pm. All are welcome.
