The Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery is pleased to present Natural Gestures, a solo exhibition by Emily Donovan, until July 12
Drawing inspiration from the landscape, Donovan utilizes historical methods to forage and procure natural pigments from plants and insects, blending traditional craft with a modern approach to batik.
The Grand Marais Arts Festival will be held downtown Grand Marais on Saturday and Sunday, July 11 and 12. Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. Sunday from 10 to 4 pm. More information at grandmaraisartcolony.org.
Twin Cities artist Scott Krohn will be the Gunflint Trail Historical Society artist-in-residence July 7 to 16. An event to meet Scott, view a mini-exhibit of his work, and watch a live demonstration will be held on Sunday, July 12, from 11 am to 1 pm at the A. Paul & Carol Schaap Community Center.

Chik-Wauk Nature Center hosts Chel Anderson for a presentation on Northwoods Orchids and their complex and sometimes mysterious lives on Sunday, June 12, from 2 to 3 pm. More information at gunflinthistory.org.
The July Gunflint Trail Historical Society meeting will be held on Monday, July 13, at 1 pm at the A. Paul & Carol Schaap Community Center (7401 Gunflint Trail GTVFD Hall #1). The Gunflint Trail Historical Society takes time during the July meeting to remember those with whom we shared our passion for the Gunflint Trail. Weekly nature presentations are held on the front porch of Chik-Wauk Museum (in case of inclement weather, the presentations will be held indoors at the Nature Center) on Mondays at 1 pm. All are welcome.

Monday Night Al-Anon will meet Mondays, at 7 pm at the First Congregational Church in Grand Marais.
The regular Schroeder Township Board of Supervisors meeting is held on the second Tuesday of the month at the Schroeder Town Hall at 7 pm. More information at schroedertownship.com.
The Cook County Board of Commissioners meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Room.
The Happy Hikers organize a weekly hike on Tuesdays at 9 am. The July 14 hike will be the Centennial Trail.
