Community Picnic

A community picnic will be held on Sunday, May 5 at lunchtime at the Beach and Pavillion in the Grand Marais Campground.  Bring your own picnic and beverage and something to share if you like.

Grand Marais Al-Anon Meetings

The Monday Night Al-Anon meeting takes place at the First Congregational Church in Grand Marais at 7 pm.

Journey Along the Iditarod

North House Folk School hosts mushers Erin Altemus and Anna Hennessy for a presentation on their rookie runs on the 1,000-mile Iditarod Trail Sle Dog Race in Alaska. Erin and Anna will share stories and photos from the March 2024 race, including the adventures, challenges, and memories from the trail.  The presentation will take place on Tuesday, May 7 at 7 pm in the Red Building.  Open to all.

Grand Marais Toastmasters

Grand Marais Toastmasters meets at Cook County Higher Education on Wednesday, May 8 from 1 to 2 pm at Cook County Higher Education.  Toastmasters helps to build confidence and improve public speaking skills in a supportive environment.

Author Talk by Mary Seifert

Grand Marais Public Library hosts an author talk with Mary Seifert on Wednesday, May 8 at 6 pm.  Mary will talk about her journey to finding the right-fit publisher for her cozy mystery manuscripts. There will be a time for questions after the presentation.  Open to the public.

Cook County West End Alanon

The West End Alanon family Group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm at the Lutsen Town Hall.  Alanon is a group that supports friends and family members of alcoholics.  The group welcomes anyone who has been affected by a friend or family member who has a problem with alcohol.

Dancing at Colvill Town Hall

Dancing at the Colvill Town Hall takes place every Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm.  Line, waltz, texas 2-step, swing polka, and more with a volunteer instructor.  All are invited to bring a favorite CD to share and your favorite dance moves.  More information is available from Arvis at 218-387-2487 or thompsontom335@gmail.com.
